Next, Cu Chi Tunnels, a must-see place in southern Vietnam where the famous underground network tunnels during the war-time in Vietnam can be seen. Last but not least, enjoy the boat trip to the Mekong Delta to see the colorful floating markets, fresh fruit garden and local family factories.

Day 1:   Pickup and transfer to hotel in Ho Chi Minh

Day 2:   Discovery the bustling Ho Chi Minh City and Cu Chi Tunnels.

Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon is a largest city of Vietnam where has modern office skyscrapers, amidst Chinese style pagodas and food stalls along the street, create a dynamic urban area in very special sense. Additionally, Ho Chi Minh City’s architecture and lifestyle is the reconciliation between American and Chinese influence, with many dots of modernity yet without losing Vietnamese traits and as much historical as it is modern. Arriving at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, meet up your guide and transfer to your hotel for check-in. You will, after that, enjoy your rest of day free at leisure and spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.

After breakfast, you will head to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, a Byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers, rooms and booby traps used by both the Vietminh and the Viet Cong to suddenly materialise as if from nowhere, launch a lightning ambush, and vanish equally rapidly. Lunch will be served at a nice restaurant near Cu Chi Tunnels before transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.

In the afternoon, you will be guided for a visiting to the Reunification Hall, the building is a magnificent example of '60s architecture - airy and open with spacious chambers and tasteful modern decorations, the Centre Post Office, one of the oldest buildings in Ho Chi Minh City. It was built around 1886 – 1891, based on the design of Gustave Eiffel – a famous French architect and has become a significant symbol of the city, just like its opposite neighbour Notre-Dame Cathedral. Next, the War Remnants Museum provides a very partial, but riveting, perspective of the ‘American War’: not for the squeamish! In the end of the day, visiting to the huge Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, is packed with every conceivable commodity.

After the breakfast at hotel, you will leave the bustling Ho Chi Minh City for Mekong Delta. The journey to Cai Be will take around 2 hours till arrival at the pier in Phu An hamlet where the Song Xanh Sampan anchors. You will check-in the sampan and became King and Queen on this private Sampan.  The cruise will begin with the visit of some local home factories where you will be able to observe how rice paste, coconut candies and other specialties are traditionally made. We will then proceed to Cai Be colorful floating market, cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables.

Your sampan will take direction of Vinh Long and Sa Dec, cruising upstream on the Tien Giang River, one of the two large arms of the Mekong. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River bring about large networks of meandering rivers, criss-crossed with countless arroyos, and remain unknown to many people.

We will then cruise on a small beautiful canal through water jacinth plantations… You will disembark to take a small rowing boat for a cruise along a narrow canal passing by a local tiny village and fruit plantations. Further on the banks, some dark smokes in the sky will lead us to one of the largest artisanal bricks and tiles factory where you will have an interesting visit.

Sa Dec town will appear like a little “Venice” with numerous narrow canals. You will disembark at the local market place for a guided visit of this charming town, walking along the narrow streets where beautiful French old houses and Chinese temples dating from the last century are numerous. Visit at an ancient house dating from 1890, home of Ong, which known from the “Lover” of Marguerite Duras famous novelist.

Back on board your sampan, your lunch will be served while we will be cruising down to Can Tho along a beautiful narrow canal, passing under several wooden “monkey bridges” and by tiny typical villages. Some stops on the banks will be possible to establish contacts with the local population. A visit will be done at a Cao Daist temple.

Before sunset, we will have our last stop on the banks arranged at a splendid ancient house or “Nha Co” dating from the early 19th century. After being greeted by the owners, we will cater a candlelight dinner for you, an unforgettable experience in a unique atmosphere. After dinner, we will proceed the cruise for approximately one hour until Can Tho. We will moor for the night in a quiet place.

Your bed will be ready for your first night on the Mekong River.

At early in the morning, the sampan will slowly start cruising along the Mekong River while the breakfast is serving on board till approaching Cai Rang floating market, actually the largest in the whole Mekong delta. We will pass by countless sampan boats carrying sand, rice, fruits and vegetables, fish, flowers… showing an intense activity on the river.

Your cruise journey will end at around 10am at Ninh Kieu pier where you meet up with guide again for a transferring back to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrival in city at mid-afternoon, you will check in at hotel and enjoy the rest of day free at leisure.

You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.
