DAY 01: HO CHI MINH CITY ARRIVAL

Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon is a largest city of Vietnam where has modern office skyscrapers, amidst Chinese style pagodas and food stalls along the street, create a dynamic urban area in very special sense. Additionally, Ho Chi Minh City’s architecture and lifestyle is the reconciliation between American and Chinese influence, with many dots of modernity yet without losing Vietnamese traits and as much historical as it is modern.

Arriving at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, meet up your guide and driver and transfer to your hotel for check-in. You’ll have time to relax after your journey before a Welcome dinner at an excellent local restaurant in city. You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 02: CU CHI TUNNELS AND HO CHI MINH CITY

After breakfast, your guide will take you to visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, a Byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers, rooms and booby traps used by both the Vietminh and the Viet Cong to suddenly materialise as if from nowhere, launch a lightning ambush, and vanish equally rapidly.

In the afternoon, you are guided for visiting to the Reunification Hall, the building is a magnificent example of '60s architecture - airy and open with spacious chambers and tasteful modern decorations, the Centre Post Office, one of the oldest buildings in Ho Chi Minh City. It was built around 1886 – 1891, based on the design of Gustave Eiffel – a famous French architect and has become a significant symbol of the city, just like its opposite neighbour Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral. Next, the War Museum provides a very partial, but riveting, perspective of the ‘American War’: not for the squeamish! Last but not least, the huge Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, is packed with every conceivable commodity. You’ll spend tonight in Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 03: MEKONG DELTA

After escaping from Ho Chi Minh City’s urban sprawl, you’ll travel to Vinh Long and boarding on a cruise takes you to visit the fruit orchards, a traditional family-run brick kiln, and some long established cottage industries. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll drive further into the Mekong Delta to Can Tho. Upon arrival you’ll call in at the Munir Ansay – an ancient Khmer style pagoda, renowned for its unique structural decorations. You’ll then drive to your hotel in Can Tho where you’ll spend the night.

Constructed in 1948 and modelled on Cambodia’s famous Angkor Wat complex, the’ Three Treasures’ tower, the Munir Ansay pagoda has many intricate statues and pillars. Today, approximately a million Khmer people live in Vietnam, mostly in the Mekong Delta provinces

DAY 04: RETURNING HO CHI MINH CITY FROM MEKONG DELTA

After an early breakfast, enjoy a boat cruise to see the Cai Rang floating market on the Mekong River. Both of the journey and the market provide insights into the rural Mekong Delta lifestyle. After lunch at local restaurant, return to Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll call in at the beautiful and ancient Vinh Trang pagoda, 3 km from My Tho centre.  You’ll arrive in Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon with time to freshen up in the hotel.

Vinh Trang Pagoda is renowned because of its architectural mixture by Chinese, Vietnamese and Angkor styles. It’s located on a 2 hectare block with 5 buildings, 2 ornamental yards, 178 pillars and many valuable statues (especially the statues of 18 arahants which were carved from wood and made in 1907) the pagoda will give you a deeper look into the relationship between Vietnamese art and Buddhist beliefs.

DAY 05: FLIGHT FROM HO CHI MINH CITY TO NHA TRANG

After the breakfast, you will be met and transferred to Tan Son Nhat airport for 1 hour flight to Nha Trang. Nha Trang has consistently maintained its position as one of the most beautiful bays of the world and also known as Kauthara under the Champa as it is still home to the famous Po Nagar Tower built by the Champa. Nha Trang with its beautiful beach, miles of smoothly golden sand and excellent scuba diving nowadays become more and more famous to the world.

Arrival in Nha Trang airport, you will be picked up and transferred to hotel for check in. You will spend tonight at a good hotel in city.

DAY 06: A DAY CRUISE IN NHA TRANG

In the morning, your guide and driver will arrive to take you to Cau Da port, where you’ll board a cruise for a boat trip around the islands of Nha Trang Bay. You’ll anchor off Mun Island for snorkelling, kayaking or soaking up the rays on the sundeck. Later, you’ll visit Tam Island for lunch, usually based on fresh seafood, with complimentary French wine and fruits before cruising to Mieu Island. In the afternoon arrive back at the mainland and be driven to your hotel. You’ll spend the night in Nha Trang.

DAY 09: FLIGHT FROM NHA TRANG TO DANANG – HOI AN

After breakfast at hotel, meet up with guide again for the transferring to Nha Trang airport for a flight to Da Nang. Arrival in Danang, you’ll have a brief look at the remarkable Hindu statuary in the Cham Museum before leaving for Hoi An. Hoi An town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. An ancient trading port, once the largest in Indochina, Hoi An was a meeting point for many cultures that left their marks in the different architectural features of its wooden buildings. The original traditional streets pattern still exist, as does the quay that once welcomed ships from all over East Asia and beyond. Many remained there for months at a time, waiting for favourable trade winds to carry them home. There are plenty of good restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. The town is also a good place for shopping for silk. You can have your clothes tailor-made within a day or two at reasonable cost.

Today, you will enjoy a walking tour explores Hoi An Ancient Town including the visiting to the 400 years old Japanese Bridge, Chinese communal hall which is also called Phuc Kien Pagoda by local people, Tan Ky Old House – the oldest house in the town and the colorful local market of Hoi An. The lunch will be served inside the town with many local special local dishes. After that, enjoying the rest of day free at leisure at Cua Dai beach or getting busy with shopping at many shop-houses in the town. You will spend your night at hotel in Hoi An.

DAY 11: HOI AN – DA NANG - HUE

In the morning, your car will arrive to drive you to Danang. You’ll have a brief look at the remarkable Hindu statuary in the Cham Museum before leaving for Hue. On the way, you will cross the high mountain pass of Hai Van. The views from the top are excellent – you should be able to see Lang Co beach and village, and the lagoon far below.

Hue city was used to the old capital of Vietnam from 1802 - 1945 under the control of Nguyen’s dynasty. Hue nowadays is still keeping many historic sites of Nguyen’s Dynasty with its Imperial Palace, Pagodas and King’s tombs. Arrival in Hue, you will transfer to hotel for check-in. You will spend the night in Hoi An.

DAY 12: FULL DAY CITY TOUR IN HUE

Today, your morning will be taken up by a Cycles Rickshaw tour to the Thien Mu Pagoda and the Imperial Citadel of Hue, the complex is occupying a large, bounded area on the north side of Perfume River. Four citadels were comprised to create the Capital City: Hoang Thanh for royal palaces and shrines, Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden Purple City) for royal residences, Dai Noi (Inner city) and Tran Binh Dai, which exclusively ancient architecture. Your lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will drive to the Royal Tombs of Emperor Minh Mang and Emperor Khai Dinh. These two mausoleums span the long reign of the Nguyen King’s imperial dynasty – the contrast is stark. Later, you will be guided to visit the Dong Ba Market, the most famous and biggest local market of Hue City. In the evening, you’ll sit down for dinner in the pleasant surroundings and a comfortable atmosphere of another of the garden houses. You’ll spend the night in Hue.

DAY 13: FLIGHT FROM HUE TO HANOI

After breakfast at hotel, you will be free at leisure till meet up with guide and transfer to Hue airport for flight to Hanoi.

Hanoi is not only the capital of Vietnam but also one of the most beautiful cities in Asia. This city has an oldest historic for over 1000 years includes a countless of cultural sites such as: pagodas, charming lakes and bustling old quarter where many handicraft workshops has. Upon arrival in Noi Bai airport you will be met by our representative and transfer to your hotel for check-in. You’ll have time to relax after your journey.

DAY 14: HANOI ORIENTATION – NIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI

After breakfast at hotel, you’ll have the whole day with our guide to explore Hanoi - Vietnam’s capital city. Your guide will take you to the Temple of Literature also called Quoc Tu Giam - the first university in Vietnam dating back to the 11th century. A next popular attraction, as is Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum together with Ba Dinh Square where Ho Chi Minh delivered the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Vietnam in 1945. It’s a great chance to step in Ho Chi Minh stilt house where he lived and worked, and the museum dedicated to his memory.

After lunch, you’ll call in at the serene Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, on the banks of Hanoi’s Ho Tay (West) Lake. After that, take a walking tour explore the bustling Old Quarter which also called 36 streets where maze of shopping streets and restaurants with a hotchpotch of architecture - traditional tube houses, religious buildings, artisans’ workshops and cottages, colonial houses and modern concrete edifices. It’s noisy and hectic, but definitely a ‘must-see’ attraction. In the evening, you’ll have tickets for a performance of traditional Water Puppetry (an art form unique to northern Vietnam, and an interesting, light-hearted introduction to its rural culture).

In the late evening, you will be driven to Hanoi Train Station for a night train to Lao Cai. You will spend tonight in a private cabin.

DAY 15: LAO CAI – SAPA & FULL DAY VISITING ETHNIC VILLAGES

At early morning, arrival in Lao Cai train station, you will be met and transferred to a nice hotel in Sapa for breakfast and store the luggage. Sapa, a destination of “cultural authenticity” where you can easily see many ethnic minorities such as Tay, Red Dao, H’Mong gathers at daily markets and trades their goods; and “natural tranquility” with hundreds of terrace rice paddies and mountain.

After breakfast, you will be guided for a visiting to a market frequented by ethnic minority peoples. These trips to ethnic minority markets must be on Tuesday: Coc Ly or Ban Cam market, Thursday: Lung Khau Nhin market, Saturday: Can Cau Market and Sunday: Bac Ha, Muong Hum or Muong Khuong market. The lunch will be served a good local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you’ll return to Lao Cai and continue your journey into the mountains to Sapa, a small town perched on the mountainside opposite Mt. Fan Si Pan, Vietnam’s highest peak. You’ll arrive with time to relax and stroll around the town. You’ll spend the night in a Sapa hotel with good mountain views.

Although it’s quite a long drive, the landscape is attractive and the ethnic markets are a fascinating experience. Unlike those in the tourist areas, the markets that we choose are for not only for buying and selling, but are also meeting places for ethnic minority people to meet and exchange news. There will be plenty of color and authentic costumes, but very little to buy as souvenirs unless you want to barter for a water buffalo or a sack of fertilizer.

You will spend tonight at a hotel in Sapa Town.

DAY 16: SAPA – LAO CAI & NIGHT TRAIN BACK TO HANOI

After breakfast, starting a day by strolling to the town’s busy colorful market also is called Sapa Market where Black H’Mong, Tay, Red Dao and other ethnic minority people converge from the surrounding countryside to sell their silverware and handicrafts, and to buy provisions. After that, you will hike down a scenic valley calling in at the H’Mong ethnic minority villages on the way. After a streamside picnic lunch, you’ll drive to more villages belonging to the H’mong, Day and Red Dao ethnic minority groups. Here you can have opportunity to visit local families and learn more about their lifestyle and the special culture through daily the activities.

After that, you will return to Sapa and have rest of day free at leisure till transfer to Lao Cai station for the overnight train to Hanoi.

DAY 17: HANOI - HA LONG BAY & TOUR WITH OVERNIGHT JUNK

Early arrival in Ha Noi train station, you will meet up with guide again and transfer to have breakfast before leaving for Ha Long Bay, one of the most spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Areas and the world’s largest marine limestone ‘karsts’ landscape. There you’ll board your boat, a junk built from the model of the old Vietnamese court vessels with sails, a wide transom and rectangular superstructure, that takes you through Bai Tu Long Bay area. You’ll then continue your cruise to visit a fishing village where you’ll have an opportunity explore the village and hidden lagoons in a tender. The route is designed to avoid the busy areas and includes a very quiet location for your overnight stay. All your meals will be provided on board, usually based on fresh seafood, and you’ll sleep in a twin/double cabin with an en suite toilet and shower.

DAY 18: HA LONG BAY – HANOI

After a light breakfast pastry and tea or coffee, you’ll dock to visit one of the most famous caves in the Bay. You’ll return to the junk for a brunch while cruising back to dock around noon and meet up guide and driver for a drive back to Hanoi.
